Brian graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1997 from the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific. He studied piano with Juilliard's Dr. Rex Cooper and composition with Dr. Robert Coburn, and has taught piano privately for over 20 years. Brian's curriculum ranges from beginning piano to advanced theory and performance, including both classical and modern music.
Brian is currently the owner and manager of Brian Hammons Piano, supervising the delivery of lessons to over 130 clients, including more than 70 of his own. He is one of a small number of piano teachers in the Central Valley that bring lessons to you, in your own home. After years of having an extensive waiting list, Brian selected and trained several associate teachers to teach the students that he was not able to fit into his schedule.
Brian hosts two recitals a year where students can perform individual, duet or original pieces. In addition to teaching, he sometimes performs for weddings or special engagements. Brian also performs, conducts and arranges music for his church community free of charge.
Brian met his wife, Kristi, at UOP's Conservatory. They have 5 children and love life in Clovis.
